Nike | Mia Hamm
As the hub of Nike’s North Campus Expansion, TVA created a commanding presence for the Mia Hamm Design Center, with a rich variety of forms and details generating strong visual interest. Encompassing 450,000 square feet over four levels, it is the largest building on the campus, and the site where every Nike shoe prototype is developed. Housing approximately 750 employees in Nike’s footwear division, it includes research and design departments and a state-of-the-art testing center. The open studio design, contained under a major sweeping curved roof, allows for easy communication and collaboration between designers. The building also serves as a campus commons, with a library, cafes, meeting rooms, an espresso bar and sundries shop enclosed in a circular form that acts as the hinge to the entire North Campus Expansion.
