Hayden Homes Amphitheater Amenity Building

Rooted in the industrial heritage of Bend’s Old Mill District and overlooking the Deschutes River, the new amenity building elevates the concert experience for performers, guests, and staff alike.

TVA was tasked with improving both operational efficiency and guest amenities through the design of a permanent, three-story facility. Replacing a collection of temporary structures, the new building incorporates premium box seating, private cabanas, roof decks, a commercial kitchen, multiple food and beverage outlets, and new restrooms, all designed to enhance comfort and streamline venue operations.

Drawing inspiration from the region’s rich timber history and the Old Mill Retail District across the river, the design celebrates mass timber as both structure and finish. Beyond its connection to place, prefabricated mass timber reduces on-site erection time through a challenging winter season. The Amphitheater’s busy concert schedule, stretching from spring through early fall, demands a highly coordinated design and construction effort within an exceptionally tight window.

TVA’s longstanding work in the Old Mill District informed the material palette and detailing, ensuring the new building feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in place, an enduring complement to one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved outdoor music venues.
