The project to renovate the existing Robert and Beverly Lewis Center for Neuroimaging at the University of Oregon was driven by the incorporation of a new Siemens 3T Skyra MRI system. TVA designed the MRI magnet bay, control room, and vestibule entry in order to site the second magnet. The repurposed space allows for increased neuroimaging research capacity on campus. This project also required significant renovation of conferencing space and offices into the laboratory. In order to provide a removable exterior wall panel for magnet placement and future magnet replacement, TVA made revisions to the exterior envelope. New helium venting was integrated into the existing mechanical system, and shielding was installed as required by the equipment specifications.
