A retreat designed for a young family and their extended members, the home is filled with spaces to gather year round.

Located within a heavily wooded, older residential neighborhood, the client asked for a home that was intimate, as well as a modern and contemporary work of architecture.  To ensure privacy, the floor plan is focused around an interior landscaped courtyard that becomes the heart of the home.  Rooms surrounding the interior garden take advantage of the natural light and fresh air. Exterior site walls that limit views to neighboring homes are constructed of board-formed concrete. Smooth white stucco accentuates the clean geometric composition of the building and plays off the dark shadows cast by a dense natural landscape.
