As founder and lead design principal, Robert Thompson’s work has focused on major corporate campuses, sports and recreational facilities, cultural projects, high-rise towers, and high-profile university projects. Under Robert’s leadership, TVA has received over 74 local, national and international awards for excellence in design. In 1993 Thompson was the youngest American architect to be elected into the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows for his contribution to the profession in the category of design. Recent work includes the Park Avenue West Tower, a 32 story mixed use high rise in downtown Portland, the Matthew Knight Arena and Ford Alumni Center on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, corporate headquarters for Banfield Pet Hospital, Nike, Inc.’s Asian campus located in Shanghai, China, a private aircraft hangar for Nike Chairman Phil Knight, the Evo and John Ross residential high rise towers in Los Angles and Portland, respectively, as well as 15 flagship Nike retail stores across the United States.
