The Center for Outpatient Health

The Center for Outpatient Health

The creation of Asante’s Center for Outpatient Health is a response to the healthcare market trend that shifts delivery service from inpatient to outpatient environments.

A four-story ambulatory care facility, the building design used patient care and experience, staff efficiency, and LEAN design thinking as guiding principles. Other core considerations including safety, quality, flexibility, and technology helped inform the innovative design approach. Workstations and collaboration areas are located at the end of each exam hallway to allow staff to work together without concern that confidential conversations might be overheard. Support spaces such as cleaning supply and soiled holding rooms populate the floors evenly to minimize walking time. The entire clinic floor is organized so that practices can expand and contract easily as patient volumes expand and contract.
